Jana is a postdoctoral researcher in Human Geography at the University of Manchester and and a member of the Centre for Urban Resilience and Energy. Her research spans the fields of urban and cultural Geography, with a focus on experimental, playful and creative approaches to place-making and learning. She completed her PhD on alternative urban experiments and their role in urban knowledge-making. Since then she has been working as a Research Associate for the University Living Lab initiative, facilitating knowledge exchange and applied sustainability research projects on campus. She is also part of the Erasmus+-funded GoGoGozo research project which looks at playful methods in student fieldwork. One of the key themes of her work is interdisciplinarity, which is informed by her practice as an independent street game designer.
